The Heart of Metamora Bake House: Real Sourdough

It all begins with a fresh milled grain. At Metamora Bake House, every loaf begins with just three simple ingredients — flour, water, and salt — and a naturally fermented sourdough starter that gives our bread its signature flavor and texture. We don’t rush the process. Each loaf is slow-fermented, shaped by hand, and baked fresh every weekend.

Our Bread

  • A rustic, golden-crushed sourdough boule with a chewy interior and signature tank. Perfect for slicing, toasting, or pairing with dinner (1.5 - 2 lb loaf). Ingredients: Fresh Milled Heritage Grain Flour (a combo of hard red and soft white wheat), Water & Salt.

  • All the goodness of a traditional loaf but enjoy a combination of either pepper jack cheese & fresh jalapeño or cheddar cheese and jalapeño. Ingredients: Fresh Milled Heritage Grain Flour, Water, Cheese (either pepper jack or cheddar), jalapeño, salt

  • Imagine a sourdough loaf laminated with grass-fed butter, this combination creates a boule loaf that is flakey and buttery, just like a delicious croissant loaf. Ingredients: Fresh Milled Heritage Grain Flour, Water, Grass-Fed European Butter, Salt

  • Enjoy either a chocolate chip sourdough loaf or a cinnamon swirl loaf, perfect for toast, french toast, or just snacking.

    Ingredients:

    Chocolate Chip Loaf: Fresh Milled Heritage Grain Flour, Water, Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips (cane sugar, unsweetened chocolate, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, soy lecithin, vanilla extract). Dairy free chocolate chips can be requested.

    Cinnamon Swirl: Fresh Milled Heritage Grain Flour, Water, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Salt.

How To Order

  • One

    You will find a complete list of our baked goods available for the week in your weekly order email, on our site, or in our bakesy shop. When you are ready to order, visit our Bakesy Shop.

  • Two

    We only do pickups on Saturday or Sunday and all items must be pre-ordered by Thursday of that week. Once you have added all your items to the cart you will pick your desired pick-up day and check out.

  • Three

    Once your order is placed you will received a confirmation email with your pickup instructions. Pickup is near downtown Metamora at our Metamora Bake House Farm stand.
